Lectures 2023
Please note: Due to copyright issues, we will not be able to record our lectures this year (2023). Your only opportunity to see the lecture will be via the live Zoom meetings. The explanation below provides the reasons for this change.
A number of Third Age chapters across Canada have been the victims of legal threats (almost without exception unwarranted and unjustifiable) by copyright internet trolls. Although unwarranted, these legal threats did result in significant legal bills. As a result, Third Age Network (TAN), contracted a lawyer to assess the issue and advise TAN accordingly. TAN represents Third Age Learning / Later Life Learning chapters all across Ontario and SLC is a member of TAN, so we have the benefit of this legal advice. Based on this advice, most Third Age chapters, including Third Age Learning - Guelph, have decided not to record their meetings, and in tandem with them, Summer Lectures Club will no longer record our meetings. We are sorry to have to implement this change, however we cannot sustain the liability or possible costs of doing otherwise.
