Third Age Learning
Lecture on Stem Cell Research - Monday June 10th at 1:30 p.m.
Mother Nature was particularly devilish this winter and caused the cancellation of one of Third Age Learning's scheduled lectures. The Guelph Summer Lectures Club has arranged to present Thom Koch's cancelled presentation on Stem Cell Research.
Stem Cell Research in Animals and Humans
Dr. Koch’s current research focus is on stem cell and tissue engineering-based therapies with joint cartilage repair being the main area of investigation. Studies on equine, canine and human stem cells, joint cartilage and synovial joint health are pursued in parallel.
Dr. Koch is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Canada, and an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Studies, Orthopaedic Research Lab, Aarhus University, Denmark. He received his Veterinary degree from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Copenhagen, Denmark.
